Durga puja gets prohibited in Bengal today, cow slaughter is forcefully started during Eid. People’s sentiments are toyed with through cow smuggling. The state government remains silent. Now it’s attempted to ban slogan of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ & attacks are executed. I’d like to tell the Bengal govt & request Mamata didi that there was a govt in UP that used to fire bullets at lord Ram devotees in Ayodhya. You can see the condition of that govt now. Now it’s TMC govt’s turn in Bengal.

Grateful to him (Rahul Gandhi) for driving the tractor for farmers and swimming in the sea for fish workers – Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan
Rahul Gandhi’s expertise in scuba diving has been the talk of the town in Kerala. His venture into the deep sea with YouTube channel ‘Fishing Freaks’ has been happily lapped up by social media. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is rarely sarcastic, expressed ‘gratitude for Rahul’s love for Kerala.’ “Grateful to him for driving the tractor for farmers and swimming in the sea for fish workers,” he said. The CM’s one-liner jibe against Rahul too has spread like wildfire on social media with ‘explainers’ by Left handles, on how Congress and UPA have deceived fish workers in policy matters. However, even political observers who are sympathetic to the Left do not dismiss Rahul’s pivotal role in Kerala politics.
States with almost the same number of seats were voting on a single day. Why is Bengal being humiliated. South 24 Parganas will vote over three phases. Why? Because we are strong in that district? Why half-half district election every day? Is this on the advice of Modi and Shah? So that they can come and campaign here after they finish with Assam and Tamil Nadu? This is a khela (sport) but we will defeat you and turn you into ghosts. We are people of the grassroots.
“I am Bengal’s daughter. I am in politics for 40 years. I know every district, every assembly seat. Whatever you do, I will smash your conspiracy. People of Bengal will rule Bengal. People of Bengal will avenge this insult of eight phase polls,” Mamata Banerjee told media. Beside multiple phase elections in many districts, what has angered Mamata Banerjee is the deployment of two special police observers to the state, including Vivek Dubey. “He was here in 2019 also and we know all the drama he did and games that he played.” she said.
Has this been done with the advice of Modi and Amit Shah? Has this been done to facilitate their campaigning? So that they can finish Assam and Tamil Nadu before coming to Bengal? This won’t help BJP. We will demolish them. I am the only one woman chief minister in the country… I will win… and then Modi and Shah, you watch the battle in the 2024 general elections. We will fight it and how. They are diving people on lines of Hindu-Muslim. The game is on. We play and win. They are dividing the entire country. But let me tell you, I know Bengal very well.
If Election Commission doesn’t provide Justice to the People, where will the People go – Mamata Banerjee
With all due respect to the Election Commission, I want to say that questions are being raised on why elections will be held in so many phases in Bengal while other states will be voting in one phase. If EC doesn’t provide justice to the people, where will the people go.

The BJP tweeted the poster with the slogan in Bengali, “Bengal Wants Its Own Daughter, Not Pishi”. Are Bengal Poll Dates Suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi & Amit Shah – West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Questioned
From BJP party sources, I have seen the list of poll dates they wanted. And now I have seen the list out in the public. They are the same. I am sorry. I am shocked. Are Bengal poll dates suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah? I am the only one woman chief minister in the country… I will win… and then Modi and Shah, you watch the battle in the 2024 general elections. We will fight it and how.
DMK president MK Stalin on Thursday hit out at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami for raising the retirement age of government employees to 60 years, saying the announcement was made with an eye on the forthcoming assembly elections in the state. Though increasing the retirement age of state government employees was welcome, it appears that the announcement was made with the elections in mind, Stalin alleged. “Raising the retirement age is welcome, albeit the announcement made for the election,” the DMK leader said in a Facebook post on Thursday. He said the Chief Minister should have fixed the age criteria of 60 years when he had increased the retirement age to 59 from 58 years in May last year.

Arvind Kejriwal took part in a roadshow in Surat, Gujarat after performance in Corporation Elections

Making inroads in Gujarat politics, the AAP won 27 seats in the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC). Addressing AAP’s newly elected corporators in Surat, Kejriwal slammed the BJP saying they are not doing great and there are a lot of issues.
Why has BJP been governing here for the last 25 years? It’s not as if they’re doing great. There are a lot of issues. Different parties come to power in states across the country but only one party is governing here. The Congress is being wiped off from everywhere, you must have heard about the municipal election results in Surat. Congress got zero seats in Surat. The Aam Aadmi Party is the only party to challenge the BJP across the nation.
Your former CM was an expert in lifting the slippers of his top party leaders – PM Modi’s Jibe on V Narayanasamy & Rahul Gandhi in Puducherry
These development works cover roads, healthcare, education, culture, sport and marine economy. What I am seeing here today — the energy and enthusiasm — is wonderful. It shows how the direction of the wind is changing in Puducherry. In 2016, Puducherry didn’t get a people’s govt. They got a govt that was busy serving the Congress high command in Delhi, their priorities were different. Your former CM was an expert in lifting the slippers of his top party leaders. The high command Congress government in Puducherry made it a point to damage every sector of governance. Traditional mills closed. Local industry was troubled. Congress doesn’t believe in working for the people.

In fact, West Bengal being an election-going State, we are required to reach out practically to every government and para-statal employee on an urgent basis to make the election safe.”

Congress-led government in Puducherry lost the confidence vote in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Though Narayanasamy moved the motion seeking the confidence vote minutes after the Assembly met for a special one-day session, he and his ruling side MLAs later walked out before the motion was put for voting. Subsequently, the Speaker declared that the motion stood defeated.
MLAs should stay loyal to the party. MLAs who have resigned will not be able to face the people as people will call them opportunists. The BJP government at the Centre, NR Congress and AIADMK have succeeded in dislodging our government by using voting power used by 3 nominated members. This is murder of democracy. The people of Puducherry and this country will teach them a lesson. Myself, ministers, Congress and DMK MLAs and independent legislator have tendered resignation and sought it be accepted.
Kerala: Asianet News & 24 News Predicted that LDF led by CPI (M)’s Pinarayi Vijayan will return to Power
Left in Kerala has reasons to cheer. In two pre-poll surveys, conducted by two prominent channels- Asianet News and 24 News- it has been predicted that the Left Democratic Front-led by the CPI (M) will return to power. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also had the highest approval rating, the surveys revealed. Kerala is scheduled to go to polls in April. Asianet survey predicted that the ruling LDF will get between 72 to 78 seats, a little over the halfway mark in the Kerala Assembly. The opposition UDF would bag 59 to 65 seats, stated the survey. The YCP has claimed that it has bagged 85 percent seats in the AP panchayat elections. There are over 13,125 panchayats in the State. The ruling party leaders are asserting that they have got a clear and indisputable majority. Just like in the 2019 Assembly elections, their party has totally decimated and exterminated the TDP. With this, there is no doubt that the Chandrababu Naidu era in AP politics has come to an end, says AP Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. He has asserted that the YCP won 100 percent seats in Pulivendula which belongs to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
After BJP’s aggressive Election Campaign; Mamata Banerjee changes Political Strategy, becomes ‘Beti’ from ‘Didi’ in TMC’s New Poll Slogan
Facing a resurgent BJP as the main challenger in the upcoming assembly polls, West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress on Saturday unveiled a poll slogan- “Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chaye”, portraying Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as its mascot with focus on women voters and Bengali sub-nationalism. The slogan, which translates to ‘Bengal wants its own daughter’, presents the transformation from her popular image of ‘didi’ (elder sister) to ‘Nijer Meye’ (own daughter), was officially launched at the party’s headquarters off EM Bypass.
Lauding Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s work. Jahan said she had working for the party, welfare of the people… day and night. It’s her (Mamata’s) emotion with the people of the state that helps her keep working for them. The people of Bengal want its daughter, Nusrat Jahan said after TMC launched its now slogan for the upcoming elections. Nusrat Jahan said people have been benefitted due to the policies of the TMC government. Hitting out at opponents, Jahan said just waking up before the elections and work is not what TMC’s style of working is.
Let me tell the brothers of Mamata didi that the BJP will form the government in the state – Dilip Ghosh, BJP
Our opponents are telling us that our game is over but let me tell them that our game is on. Be ready. Tell mothers to keep their children under control if they want to see their faces after polls. We are civilised and follow the law but it doesn’t mean that we are weak. Yes, ‘khela hobe, khela hobe’ and ‘paribortan hobe’. Let me tell the brothers of Mamata didi that the BJP will form the government in the state. I know there will be attempts to stop the yatra so I have come to meet you. We will ensure that you are able to cast your votes

There are some leaders (in Delhi) who said they knew how to break the spine of Bengal. It is not easy to gouge out our eyes & break our spine… I request all of you to say ‘Joy Bangla’ whenever you answer a phone call, not hello. Today is the 21st of February. Language Martyrs’ Day. I pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the Bengali language on this historic day. Best wishes to all on the International Mother Language Day. Respect all languages but take pride in your mother tongue.

BJP Launches Slogan Against TMC: A tune from Communist Italy, sung to protest against atrocities, echoes once again in West Bengal
Hours after the BJP challenged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to announce her candidature from Nandigram alone if she is confident of winning from that constituency, the saffron party has released a ‘Slow-Gaan’ to TMC’s campaign slogan of “Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chay” – Bengal wants its own daughter. Using an anti-communist tune from Italy, the song reiterated calls of Pishi Jao while the tweets made by the BJP leaders said Bangla Didir Theke Mukti Chay – meaning “Bengalis want to get rid of Didi”. The ‘Pishi’ (aunt) in ‘Pishi Jao’ is clearly Mamata Banerjee. ‘Pishi’ is a snide jibe at the West Bengal Chief Minister who happens to the aunt of Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee, a leader who has been accused of corruption by his opponents. Under such circumstances, ‘Pishi Jao’ is likely to resonate among significant sections of the Bengal electorate.
As long as there is life in me, I will not be afraid of any intimidation. We have fought against guns and are not afraid of fighting against rats. Let there be a challenge in 2021, let us see whose strength is more; there will be only one game in 2021 and I will be the goalkeeper in that match and want to see who wins and who loses. We have not learnt to lose and they won’t be able to defeat us.
As the Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR should have participated in the meeting – N Uttam Kumar Reddy
As the Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR should have participated in the meeting to raise issues concerning the State. By skipping the meeting, KCR has sent a clear message that either he is not interested in the development of Telangana or he has completely surrendered before the Modi Govt and giving it a free hand to do whatever it wants. It is highly unfortunate that Telangana got a CM who only rests at his palatial bungalow ‘Pragathi Bhavan’ or the farm house. But he never finds time to meet people to listen to their grievances and resolve them. While other CMs presented a wishlist for their respective States, CM KCR decided to take rest by assigning the job to Chief Secretary Somesh Kuma.
Tamil Nadu CM Palaniswami said that while Stalin had his father’s backing, he climbed the ladder of success from a rural background
Hitting out at DMK President M K Stalin for his Chief Ministerial aspirations, incumbent K Palaniswami on Thursday wondered if the post was something that could be purchased from a shop and said it has to be decided by the people. Palaniswami said that while Stalin had his father’s backing, he climbed the ladder of success from a rural background. Anyone from AIADMK can reach the top with hardwork, but that was not the case in the DMK where the party’s first family was at the helm of affairs, he said.
DMK was in power five times. You were a Minister and deputy CM. Why didn’t you take care of people then. They won’t cater to people while in power but are speaking lies (now) to come to power. Anyone from AIADMK can reach the top with hardwork, but that was not the case in the DMK where the party’s first family was at the helm of affairs. I never saw myself as a chief minister but you (people) are and the post was meant to serve the public.
Hitting out at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s ‘Didi-Bhaipo’ jibes, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday challenged him to contest an election against her nephew Abhishek Banerjee and then think of fighting her. “Day and night they are talking about Didi-Bhatija. I challenge Amit Shah, contest against Abhishek Banerjee first and then me,” she said, amid a loud cheer from supporters. Banerjee said that she has neither made Abhishek the deputy chief minister nor the chief minister and he is just an elected MP.
Railways is to be blamed for the blast at Murshidabad where minister Jakir Hossain was injured – Mamata Banerjee
Without taking the name of any particular party or individual, Mamata Banerjee alleged that some people were “pressurising” Hossain to join their party. The West Bengal government on Thursday handed over the probe into the matter to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). “Railways is to be blamed for the blast at Murshidabad where minister Jakir Hossain was injured. It was a planned conspiracy to kill him. Not a responsibility of the state government, Railways and Centre are to be blamed,” Banerjee said.

He thanked and congratulated the people for defeating the negative and vicious forces that are out to ruin Punjab and its future.
Shame on the BJP for targeting elected Congress governments – Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanasway
No one will be surprised, if a BJP-led or BJP-backed government somehow manages to get on the saddle. This is the same script that is playing out in each state, say political analysts. “This is the BJP’s style of functioning. They will poach and buy MLAs. They have done it in Manipur, Arunachal, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh…they are only purchasing MLAs. Shame on the BJP for targeting elected Congress governments,” the Chief Minister Narayanasway told NDTV on Tuesday, even as he asserted that his government is not in a minority.
The people of Bengal want that the way the citizens have gained respect under PM Modi’s leadership, the way they have gained opportunities, they want Bengal’s children to also receive such opportunities. This is why you can see how much they long for poribortan. And now we will see as the polls begin when the people give a tough mandate to Mamata Didi.
Home Minister Amit Shah spoke about the slogan of Jai Shree Ram and why CM Mamata Banerjee has disaffection towards the slogan
Now TMC people will not be able to harass us as the number of people who are with us, it is difficult for them to torture these many people. The slogan of Jai Shree Ram is not a religious slogan anymore for people of Bengal. You (Mamata) did appeasement politics for 10 years, it has become the slogan of people’s anger against you. Will you have to go to court to offer Durga Puja? Teachers and children will be beaten on Vasant Panchami for offering Saraswati puja? Why? Mamata Banerjee will have to answer this. The more she hates the slogan, the more louder it will grow.
It was a preplanned attack on minister Jakir Hossain. It is a conspiracy. Some people (party) were pressuring Jakir Hossian to join them for the last few months. I don’t want to disclose anything more as the investigation is on. How can the railways deny their responsibility over security lapses when the attack happened at a railway station?
Days after Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) announced that it will field candidates on all 294 Assembly seats in the upcoming Bengal elections, Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United has also made its ambitions clear. The JD-U, which is in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the neighbouring Bihar, will go solo in West Bengal. Speaking to reporters in Kolkata on Thursday, Bablu Mahato, chairman of JD-U’s election committee in West Bengal said the party will contest the state polls alone. However, Mahato didn’t divulge any details regarding the number of seats the JD-U will contest on.
Mamata Banerjee challenged Amit Shah to contest against her nephew Abhishek Banerjee first and then her

The Home Minister was in the state today, holding roadshows, as part of BJP’s Poribortan Yatra, to further boost the presence of the saffron party in Bengal, ahead of the elections. Amit Shah held rallies in South 24 Parganas, other places in West Bengal, and launched an all-out attack at the Mamata-led TMC government.

There is no poriborton as far as violence is concerned. There is no poriborton as far as corruption is concerned, rather it has become hundredfold when compared to the Left Front rule. Mamata Banerjee is known for her simplicity but no one can have a split personality. If your leaders are found in some kind of a corruption then (there should be) no mercy. You (may) not declare them corrupt but the due process of law has to be there.

I think the CM (Mamata) need not have reacted adversely to a slogan whether it’s ‘Jai Hind’ or ‘Jai Shri Ram’ – Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew and BJP leader Chandra Kumar Bose
I think the CM need not have reacted adversely to a slogan whether it’s ‘Jai Hind’ or ‘Jai Shri Ram’. This is not the day to do any politics. It is a day to celebrate, it is a day to pay homage to the soldiers and martyrs of Indian National Army. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose stood for unity. He had people of all communities in Azad Hind Fauj. Whether you say ‘Jai Hind’ or ‘Jai Sri Ram’, I don’t find any difference. ‘Jai Sri Ram’ isn’t a statement where one should react in an allergic manner.

Neither her party members nor the administrative officials are afraid of her.” While addressing a rally in Malda, Banerjee said that bringing BJP to power in the state means “encouraging riots”. Banerjee has also compared herself to the Royal Bengal Tiger and said she is not afraid of anyone.
The state of West Bengal witnessed massive political tensions ahead of the upcoming by-polls as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had to alter plans for its ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in Bengal’s Murshidabad district for the second consecutive day, this time in view of chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s election rally. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress chief started her tour of Murshidabad, Malda, North Dinajpur and East Burdwan, districts with the highest Muslim population in the eastern state. The TMC leader also stated that the people should show the BJP the way out of the state.

Promising development in the poll-bound state, Nadda said “development will be possible only when Mamata Ji leaves and lotus blooms.” He was addressing the party’s ‘Cha Chakra’ program at Hariatara village ground in Kharagpur. Taking a swipe at chief minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government, the BJP chief said that those who won the elections in the name of ‘Ma, Mati, Manush’, are now engaged in “dictatorship, appeasement and strongarm tactics”.
There is no reason to think I am weak, I am not a person to be afraid of anything. I am a strong person and will keep my head high as long as I live and till then I will live like a Royal Bengal Tiger. We have not forgotten the gaddars like Mir Jafar (who backstabbed Siraj Ud-Daulah during battle of Plassey). We should never forget the gaddars. You should all teach them a lesson. There are some who indulged in corruption have now jumped to BJP…to enter the BJP washing machine to get cleaned.
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday likened herself to a Royal Bengal Tiger. Addressing a rally in Murshidabad, Banerjee said that she is not a weak person who can be “intimidated” by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Banerjee also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of wrongly claiming at a BJP meeting in Haldia on Sunday that government employees in Bengal do not get salaries properly. The CM said that it is the Centre which is selling off BSNL, SAIL and privatising the Railways and insurance companies. “People from Gujarat will not rule Bengal, the Trinamool Congress will rule Bengal,” she said.
