In yet another blow to the Congress in Kerala, another senior leader KC Rosakutty, who is also the Vice President of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), has resigned from the party. She cited women being ignored by the party in the polls for her decision. Hours after she announced her resignation, Rosakutty said she will be working with the Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF). She was the former MLA of Sulthan Bathery Assembly constituency in the ninth Kerala Assembly. Announcing her decision, Rosakutty said that the Congress ignored the women in the party.
I join NCP as part of the LDF (Left Democratic Front In Kerala). The country today needs the Left and other democratic parties to come together. I have promised Pawar sahab that LDF will come to power in Kerala. I will be touring in Kerala as a true soldier. Today, the need is the unity of the opposition. A united opposition should emerge as an alternative to the BJP. I don’t see that initiative in the party which I was a member of earlier.
Senior leader PC Chacko, who joined the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday said unity was the need of the hour in opposition and he didn’t see that initiative in Congress. Taking a dig at the Congress party, Chacko said, “A united opposition should emerge as an alternative to the BJP. I am happy to be part of a party which is functioning, active and a party moving with a direction.”
Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar on Tuesday joined the Shiv Sena, nearly a month after her name was proposed by the party for one of the 12 nominated seats in the Maharashtra legislative Council. Urmila Matondkar, who had quit the Congress after contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, said she was impressed by the work undertaken by Uddhav Thackeray and his government.

As per media reports, actress Urmila Matondkar will formally join the Sena this week in the presence of party chief and chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son and minister Aaditya. The party, according to insiders, has already nominated Matondkar for one of the 12 governor-nominated seats in the state legislative Council.
Former Congress MP Annu Tandon, who resigned from the party a few days ago, will be joined the Samajwadi Party. Tandon joined the Samajwadi Party in a small function at the party headquarters with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav welcoming her. Tandon had resigned from the Congress party on October 29 following which she had been expelled from the party.

Hussain had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Assembly polls from the Bani constituency as a BSP candidate before joining PDP.

The Congress party suffered another setback in Madhya Pradesh a week before the bypolls when its MLA Rahul Singh resigned from the state assembly. He is the fourth Congress MLA to have joined the BJP since July.

After differences with Devendra Fadnavis; Eknath Khadse, Former Maharashtra BJP leader joins Sharad Pawar’s NCP
Former Maharashtra BJP leader Eknath Khadse on Friday joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the presence of the party’s chief Sharad Pawar. Sulking since his unceremonious exit from the Devendra Fadnavis-led ministry in 2016 over land grab allegations, Khadse (68) on Wednesday quit the BJP. The same day, state NCP chief Jayant Patil announced he would be joining the Pawar-led party.
I will join the NCP on October 23. The then chief minister (Devendra Fadnavis) instructed the police to register an FIR against me on a false allegation of harassment by a woman. He said the case would be withdrawn later. A corruption inquiry was initiated against me in which I came clean. I suffered a lot in the BJP.
Senior BJP leader Eknath Khadse quits the party, to join NCP on Friday. Khadse informed NCP Leader Jayant Patil that he has quit the BJP and will be coming to the NCP fold on Friday. Khadse was number 2 in the Devendra Fadnavis cabinet before he being ousted out over allegations of helping his family to purchase land that was already acquired by the Maharashtra industrial development corporation. He resigned in 2016 and has been alienated by the BJP since then.
BJP has got a shot in the arm in Mizoram with all 13 members of the ruling Congress in Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) switching sides and joining the saffron party on Friday. Development came ahead of next month’s polls to the LADC located in Lawngtlai district. The LADC has 25 total members of whom 8 are from Mizo National Front (MNF) and 4 former Congress members who resigned from the party last week.

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader and former MP Kali Pandey joined the Congress. Pandey has already filed his nomination papers as a Congress candidate from Kuchaikote constituency in Bihar. Kali Pandey, who switched over from the LJP, said it was a homecoming for him as he had earlier extended support to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1984 when he was a member of the Lok Sabha. “I feel honoured to have joined the Congress,” he said.
