After a Delhi court asked police to show evidence and not go by surmises or conjectures when it opposed the bail plea of activist Disha Ravi, Congress leader Kapil Sibal took a dig saying “disha (direction)” of the police seems tainted. Sibal’s tweet comes after additional sessions Judge Dharmender Rana posed some pointed questions to the probe agency while hearing on Ravi’s plea, asking it if it was only acting on “surmises, inferences, and conjectures”. It also questioned how the toolkit was connected to the violence during the farmers’ march. Kapil Sibal’s son is representing Disha Ravi in court. Akhil Sibal is representing the climate activist pro bono.
