There is no talk on Assam, for our whole concentration is on West Bengal now – AIMIM leader Mohammed Majid Hussain

Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is not likely to contest the upcoming Assam assembly election. “There is no talk on Assam, for our whole concentration is on West Bengal now,” senior AIMIM leader Mohammed Majid Hussain told media. Assam and West Bengal are likely to go to the polls in April. After the AIMIM’s success in the Bihar polls last year, where it won five seats, it was speculated that the Hyderabad-based party might seek to expand its base in the Northeast and make a debut in Assam.
